Belinda Wilson Australian, b. 1969
Belinda Wilson is a Melbourne based, established contemporary artist, with an extensive history in academic leadership and education roles within the tertiary sector. Her extensive portfolio of paintings and drawings have been realized through a profound resonance with the Australian landscape and its incomparably primitive artistry. Belinda has exhibited extensively within Australia (Muse Gallery, Artistry, Victoria Gallery and Qantas Lounges countrywide) and internationally (at the Australian Embassy in Korea, Costa Rica and New York City), and has received accolades from numerous national awards (Prometheus Visual Art Award, Toyota Community Spirit Gallery and the ANL Maritime Art Prize).
Belinda recently completed a Master of Fine Art (Research) at RMIT University, School of Art (2014-2018). Her practice led research explores the effect natural disasters and extreme weather conditions have on our well-being. Belinda draws inspiration for her artworks from her own personal recollections of regional locations where she grew up and it's unfortunate weather conditions.
