Joshua Yeldham is a Sydney based artist and filmmaker notorious for his psychedelic paintings of Australian landscapes. Extremely inspired by Indigenous art he often includes Indigenous iconography and dreamlike imagery in his work to arouse a sense of spirituality within the viewer. His artistic practice includes ripping apart, sanding and continuously painting over his work, which results in a tapestry-like finished product. Born in 1970 in Sydney, Australia, Yeldham went on to receive a BCFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1993. Today, his works are in the collections of the University of Wollongong, The Australian Stock Exchange, and the Manly Art Gallery and Museum among others.
