Sue Macleod-Beere New Zealand, Australian, b. 1956-

Sue MacLeod-Beere is a Sydney based colourist who finds depth of meaning in the simplest still life or the way light falls across a picket fence, taking the viewer on a path forward to an unknown destination. Her preferred medium of oil paint on board and canvas has seen her work chosen for numerous Sydney art exhibitions including the Mosman Art Prize and EMSLA Still Life Award. Sue has been seleted as a finalilst in the 2020 Gallipoli Art Prize and the 2020 Ravenswood Womens Prize.  Her work process is to work directly with the subject; plein air painting is a particular passion.

A number of her paintings have been used in two Television series, ‘Reckoning’ (2018) and ‘The Secret Daughter’ (2016).
